이번 주는 사무엘이 제사장과 선지자로 이스라엘 백성에게 알려졌지만, 아직 엘리 제사장이 사사로 있을 때에 블레셋과의 전투에서 패하여 엘리와 두 아들 홉니와 비느하스가 모두 죽으면서, 법궤도 빼앗기고 난 이후의 상황을 들려주는 본문을 읽게 됩니다.

이 본문에는 하나님의 백성이 잘못할 때에 그 주변과의 관계 속에서 하나님이 어떻게 행동하시는지를 보여주는 교훈이 담겨 있습니다.
