- 이번 주부터는 디모데전서를 읽게 됩니다. 디모데전서는 사도 바울이 젊은 목회자인 디모데에게 교회의 신앙 질서와 공동체적인 삶의 원리에 대해서 권면을 담아 보낸 서신으로, 우리가 이 말씀들을 읽을 때에, 교회 내에서 어떻게 믿음 생활을 해야 하는지 유익한 가르침들을 얻을 수 있습니다.

다음의 질문들을 통하여 본문의 내용을 미리 살펴보시지요.

- 사도 바울이 디모데를 에베소 교회에 머물러 있도록 지시한 이유는 무엇입니까?

- 4절의 ‘신화와 끝없는 족보’라는 말이 다른 번역들에는 어찌 되어 있습니까?

Stay right there on top of things so that the teaching stays on track. 　4) Apparently some people have been introducing fantasy stories and fanciful family trees that digress into silliness instead of pulling the people back into the center, deepening faith and obedience. 　5) The whole point of what we're urging is simply love--love uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit faith, a life open to God. 　6) Those who fail to keep to this point soon wander off into cul-de-sacs of gossip. 　7) They set themselves up as experts on religious issues, but haven't the remotest idea of what they're holding forth with such imposing eloquence. 　8) It's true that moral guidance and counsel need to be given, but the way you say it and to whom you say it are as important as what you say. 　9) It's obvious, isn't it, that the law code isn't primarily for people who live responsibly, but for the irresponsible, who defy all authority, riding roughshod over God, life, 　10) sex, truth, whatever! 　11) They are contemptuous of this great Message I've been put in charge of by this great God.

욘 4:10) 여호와께서 이르시되 네가 수고도 아니하였고 재배도 아니하였고 하룻밤에 났다가 하룻밤에 말라 버린 이 박넝쿨을 아꼈거든 　11) 하물며 이 큰 성읍 니느웨에는 좌우를 분변하지 못하는 자가 십이만여 명이요 가축도 많이 있나니 내가 어찌 아끼지 아니하겠느냐 하시니라
