지난주에 자기 백성 공동체를 위하여 참회와 회복을 위한 기도를 드렸던 느헤미야는 이제 예루살렘의 회복을 위하여 나서기로 합니다. 
이번 주에 읽게 되는 본문에는 느헤미야가 그렇게 기도하였던 일에 대하여 어떤 응답을 받았으며 또한 자신의 기도에 어떻게 실천적으로 임하는지에 대한 신앙적인 정직함이 배어나기에, 우리가 배워야할 기도의 모범이 담겨 있습니다.
