"당신과 당신의 지혜에 대한 소문은 내가 이미 우리 나라에서 듣고 있었습니다만 과연 사실이군요. 　7) 이렇게 와서 내 눈으로 직접 보기 전까지는 그 이야기가 하나도 믿어지지 않았습니다. 그러나 내가 들은 이야기는 이제 보니 사실의 절반도 못 되는 것이었습니다. 당신의 지혜와 번영은 내가 듣던 소문보다 훨씬 더 뛰어나십니다. 　8) 당신을 모시는 부인들이야말로 행복한 여인들입니다. 언제나 당신 앞에 서서 당신의 지혜로운 말씀을 듣는 신하들이야말로 행복한 사람들입니다. 　9) 당신으로 인하여 기뻐하시어 당신을 이스라엘의 왕좌에 앉히신 당신의 하느님 야훼께 찬미를 올립니다. 야훼께서는 이스라엘을 영원히 사랑하셔서 당신을 왕으로 삼아 법과 정의를 세우게 하셨습니다." 　10) 여왕은 금 백이십 달란트와 많은 향료와 보석을 솔로몬 왕에게 선물하였다. 솔로몬 왕은 세바의 여왕에게 선물받은 것만큼 많은 향료는 두 번 다시 받아보지 못하였다. 　11) 오빌 지방에서 금을 실어 오던 히람의 상선대는 이번에는 굉장히 많은 오동나무와 보석을 운반해 왔다. 　12) 왕은 이 오동나무로 야훼의 전과 왕궁의 난간을 만들고 노래에 맞추어 뜯을 수금과 거문고를 만들기도 하였다. 오동나무가 이렇게 들어온 것은 처음이자 마지막 일이었다. 　13) 솔로몬 왕은 세바의 여왕에게 관례에 의한 답례물 이외에도 여왕이 요청한 것을 모두 주었다. 여왕은 시종들을 거느리고 자기 나라로 돌아갔다. 　14) 일 년간 솔로몬이 수입한 금은 육백육십육 달란트나 되었다. 　15) 관세 수입금과 외국과의 무역에서 벌어들인 이익금과 아라비아 여러 왕과 국내의 지방장관들에게서 들어오는 ①것을 제외하고 그렇게 되었다. / ①"…것만으로도"로 옮길 수도 있다. 히브리어 본문이 불확실하다. 　16) 솔로몬 왕은 금을 입힌 대형 방패를 이백 개 만들었는데 방패 하나에 금 육백 세겔이 들었다. 　17) 또 금을 입힌 소형 방패를 삼백 개 만들었는데 방패 하나에 금이 삼 미나 들었다. 왕은 이 방패들을 레바논 수풀궁에 보관하였다. 　18) 왕은 또 상아로 대형 옥좌를 만들고 순금을 입혔다. 　19) 그 옥좌에는 계단이 여섯 개 있었고 옥좌 뒤에는 송아지의 머리가 붙어 있었으며 옥좌 양편에는 팔걸이가 있었고 양 팔걸이 옆에는 사자 두 마리가 세워져 있었다. 　20) 여섯 계단 양쪽에는 사자가 세워져 있었는데 한 쪽에 여섯 마리씩, 모두 열두 마리가 서 있었다. 이와 같은 옥좌는 일찍이 어느 나라에서도 만들지 못한 것이었다. 　21) 솔로몬 왕의 술잔은 모두 금으로 만들었고 레바논의 수풀궁에 있는 모든 집기도 순금으로 만들어진 것이었다. 은으로 만든 것은 하나도 없었다. 솔로몬 시대에는 은을 귀금속으로 생각하지도 않았기 때문이다. 　22) 또 왕은 다르싯 상선대를 조직하여 히람 상선대와 함께 해상 무역에 종사토록 하였다. 다르싯 상선대로 금, 은, 상아, 원숭이, 공작새 등을 해외에서 한 번 실어 오는 데 삼 년이 걸렸다. 　23) 솔로몬 왕은 땅 위의 어느 왕도 따를 수 없을 만큼 부유하고 지혜로웠다. 　24) 그리하여 하느님께 받은 솔로몬의 지혜로운 생각을 듣고자 하여 세계 각처에서 사람들이 솔로몬 왕을 찾아왔다. 　25) 찾아오는 자마다 빈손으로 오지 않고 은집기, 금집기, 옷, 갑옷, 향료, 말, 노새 등을 예물로 가져왔는데 찾는 자가 매년 그치지 않았다. 　26) 솔로몬이 병거와 말을 사 모으다 보니 병거가 천사백 대, 군마는 만 이천 마리가 되었다. 그는 이 병력의 일부는 병거주둔성에 배치하고 일부는 왕이 있는 예루살렘에 배치하였다. 　27) 예루살렘에서는 은이 마치 돌멩이처럼 흔하게 되었고 송백은 야산 지대의 돌무화과나무만큼이나 많아졌다. 이것은 모두 왕의 덕분이었다. 　28) 솔로몬은 왕실 소속 무역상들을 시켜 길리기아와 큐에로부터 말을 수입하였다. 　29) 병거와 말은 이집트에서 수입했는데 가격은 병거 한 대에 은 육백 세겔, 말 한 마리에 은 백오십 세겔이었다. 이와 같은 방식으로 왕실 소속 무역상들을 통하여 헷 왕들과 시리아 왕들에게 병거와 말을 수출하였다.
