아침예배 시간에 성찬식이 있으니, 마음과 삶을 살펴서 온전히 준비하여 예식에 참여하시기 바랍니다.

이번 주는 나사로의 부활 사건을 목도하고도 대제사장과 바리새인들이 예수님을 어떻게 죽이려 하는 계획을 세우는지, 그래서 예수님의 십자가가 어떻게 해서 세워지게 되는지 그 과정을 보게 됩니다.

다음의 질문들을 통하여 본문을 미리 살펴보시지요.

- 나사로가 살아난 일을 본 사람들 가운데, 어떤 서로 다른 두 반응이 나타났습니까?

- 47절을 보면, 대제사장들과 바리새인들은 예수님의 어떤 점이 문제가 된다고 생각하였습니까?

"당신들은 그렇게도 아둔합니까? 　50) 온 민족이 멸망하는 것보다 한 사람이 백성을 대신해서 죽는 편이 더 낫다는 것도 모릅니까?" 　51) 이 말은 가야파가 자기 생각으로 한 것이 아니라 그 해의 대사제로서 예언을 한 셈이다. 그 예언은 예수께서 유다 민족을 대신해서 죽게 되리라는 것과 　52) 자기 민족뿐만 아니라 흩어져 있는 하느님의 자녀들을 한데 모으기 위해서 죽는다는 뜻이었다. 　53) 그 날부터 그들은 예수를 죽일 음모를 꾸미기 시작하였다. 　54) 그래서 예수께서는 그 이상 더 유다 지방에서 드러나게 나다니지 않으시고 그 곳을 떠나 광야 근처에 있는 지방으로 가시어 제자들과 함께 에브라임이라는 동네에 머물러 계셨다. 　55) 유다인들의 과월절이 다가오자 많은 사람들이 명절 전에 몸을 정결하게 하려고 시골에서 예루살렘으로 올라갔다. 　56) 그들은 예수를 찾아다니다가 성전 뜰 안에 모여서 "어떻게들 생각하십니까? 그가 명절에 참례할 것 같지는 않지요?" 하며 서로 수군거렸다. 　57) 대사제들과 바리사이파 사람들은 예수를 붙잡으려고 그 거처를 아는 자는 곧 신고하라는 명령을 내려두었던 것이다.

요 11:45-57 　45) Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, believed in him. 　46) But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. 　47) Then the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin. “What are we accomplishing?” they asked. “Here is this man performing many signs. 　48) If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our temple and our nation.” 　49) Then one of them, named Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, spoke up, “You know nothing at all! 　50) You do not realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the whole nation perish.” 　51) He did not say this on his own, but as high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the Jewish nation, 　52) and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one. 　53) So from that day on they plotted to take his life. 　54) Therefore Jesus no longer moved about publicly among the people of Judea. Instead he withdrew to a region near the wilderness, to a village called Ephraim, where he stayed with his disciples. 　55) When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, many went up from the country to Jerusalem for their ceremonial cleansing before the Passover. 　56) They kept looking for Jesus, and as they stood in the temple courts they asked one another, “What do you think? Isn’t he coming to the festival at all?” 　57) But the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that anyone who found out where Jesus was should report it so that they might arrest him.
