이번 주는 지난주에 이어서 포로귀환민들이 드렸던 참회의 기도 가운데 마지막 부분 읽게 됩니다. 
이 부분에는 이스라엘의 역사적으로 반복되었던 잘못이 어떤 것인지가 잘 담겨져 있는데, 이를 통해서 우리도 죄가 반복되는 과정들과 그 안에 담겨진 하나님의 손길을 잘 알 수 있게 됩니다. 
다음의 질문들을 통하여 본문을 미리 살펴 보시기 바랍니다. 이번 본문 살피기 질문들은 이번에 한해서 특별히 조금 더 생각해 보실 수 있도록 만들었습니다.

- 이 기도문에는 우리 사람들의 거듭된 배신과 반역에도 불구하고 거듭거듭 자기 백성을 도우시는 하나님의 은혜와 자비가 아름답게 담겨져 있습니다. 
이런 사람의 범죄 모습을 고백하는 문구들과, 하나님의 은혜를 고백하는 문구들 가운데서 자기 마음에 부딪히는 표현들을 다음의 예처럼 한 가지씩 골라 보시기 바랍니다. 굳이 ①번과 ②번의 인과관계를 맞추지 마시고, 각기 따로 아무것이나 마음에 와닿는 표현 한 가지씩만을 적어 보세요.

You subdued before them the Canaanites, who lived in the land; you gave the Canaanites into their hands, along with their kings and the peoples of the land, to deal with them as they pleased. 　25) They captured fortified cities and fertile land; they took possession of houses filled with all kinds of good things, wells already dug, vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees in abundance. They ate to the full and were well-nourished; they reveled in your great goodness. 　26) “But they were disobedient and rebelled against you; they turned their backs on your law. And You subdued before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, And You gave them into their hand, with their kings, and the peoples of the land, To do with them as they desired. 　25) "And they captured fortified cities and a fertile land. They took possession of houses full of every good thing, Hewn cisterns, vineyards, olive groves, Fruit trees in abundance. So they ate, were filled, and grew fat, And reveled in Your great goodness. 　26) "But they became disobedient and rebelled against You, And cast Your law behind their backs And killed Your prophets who had admonished them So that they might return to You, And they committed great blasphemies. 　27) "Therefore You delivered them into the hand of their oppressors who oppressed them, But when they cried to You in the time of their distress, You heard from heaven, and according to Your great compassion You gave them deliverers who delivered them from the hand of their oppressors. 　28) "But as soon as they had rest, they did evil again before You; Therefore You abandoned them to the hand of their enemies, so that they ruled over them. When they cried again to You, You heard from heaven, And many times You rescued them according to Your compassion, 　29) And admonished them in order to turn them back to Your law. Yet they acted arrogantly and did not listen to Your commandments but sinned against Your ordinances, By which if a man observes them he shall live. And they turned a stubborn shoulder and stiffened their neck, and would not listen. 　30) "However, You bore with them for many years, And admonished them by Your Spirit through Your prophets, Yet they would not give ear. Therefore You gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands. 　31) "Nevertheless, in Your great compassion You did not make an end of them or forsake them, For You are a gracious and compassionate God. 　32) "Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who keep covenant and lovingkindness, Do not let all the hardship seem insignificant before You, Which has come upon us, our kings, our princes, our priests, our prophets, our fathers, and on all Your people, From the days of the kings of Assyria to this day. 　33) "However, You are just in all that has come upon us; For You have dealt faithfully, but we have acted wickedly. 　34) "For our kings, our leaders, our priests, and our fathers have not kept Your law Or paid attention to Your commandments and Your admonitions with which You have admonished them. 　35) "But they, in their own kingdom, With Your great goodness which You gave them, With the broad and rich land which You set before them, Did not serve You or turn from their evil deeds. 　36) "Behold, we are slaves today, And as to the land which You gave to our fathers to eat of its fruit and its bounty, Behold, we are slaves on it. 　37) "And its abundant produce is for the kings Whom You have set over us because of our sins; They also rule over our bodies And over our cattle as they please, So we are in great distress. 　38) "Now because of all this We are making an agreement in writing; And on the sealed document are the names of our leaders, our Levites and our priests."

느 9:23-38 　23) You multiplied their descendants like the stars of heaven, and brought them into the land that you had told their ancestors to enter and possess. 　24) So the descendants went in and possessed the land, and you subdued before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gave them into their hands, with their kings and the peoples of the land, to do with them as they pleased. 　25) And they captured fortress cities and a rich land, and took possession of houses filled with all sorts of goods, hewn cisterns, vineyards, olive orchards, and fruit trees in abundance; so they ate, and were filled and became fat, and delighted themselves in your great goodness. 　26) "Nevertheless they were disobedient and rebelled against you and cast your law behind their backs and killed your prophets, who had warned them in order to turn them back to you, and they committed great blasphemies. 　27) Therefore you gave them into the hands of their enemies, who made them suffer. Then in the time of their suffering they cried out to you and you heard them from heaven, and according to your great mercies you gave them saviors who saved them from the hands of their enemies. 　28) But after they had rest, they again did evil before you, and you abandoned them to the hands of their enemies, so that they had dominion over them; yet when they turned and cried to you, you heard from heaven, and many times you rescued them according to your mercies. 　29) And you warned them in order to turn them back to your law. Yet they acted presumptuously and did not obey your commandments, but sinned against your ordinances, by the observance of which a person shall live. They turned a stubborn shoulder and stiffened their neck and would not obey. 　30) Many years you were patient with them, and warned them by your spirit through your prophets; yet they would not listen. Therefore you handed them over to the peoples of the lands. 　31) Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God. 　32) "Now therefore, our God--the great and mighty and awesome God, keeping covenant and steadfast love--do not treat lightly all the hardship that has come upon us, upon our kings, our officials, our priests, our prophets, our ancestors, and all your people, since the time of the kings of Assyria until today. 　33) You have been just in all that has come upon us, for you have dealt faithfully and we have acted wickedly; 　34) our kings, our officials, our priests, and our ancestors have not kept your law or heeded the commandments and the warnings that you gave them. 　35) Even in their own kingdom, and in the great goodness you bestowed on them, and in the large and rich land that you set before them, they did not serve you and did not turn from their wicked works. 　36) Here we are, slaves to this day--slaves in the land that you gave to our ancestors to enjoy its fruit and its good gifts. 　37) Its rich yield goes to the kings whom you have set over us because of our sins; they have power also over our bodies and over our livestock at their pleasure, and we are in great distress." 　38) Because of all this we make a firm agreement in writing, and on that sealed document are inscribed the names of our officials, our Levites, and our priests.
