에 8:1-8 　1) 그 날 아하수에로 왕이 유다인의 대적 하만의 집을 왕후 에스더에게 주니라 에스더가 모르드개는 자기에게 어떻게 관계됨을 왕께 아뢰었으므로 모르드개가 왕 앞에 나오니 　2) 왕이 하만에게서 거둔 반지를 빼어 모르드개에게 준지라 에스더가 모르드개에게 하만의 집을 관리하게 하니라 　3) 에스더가 다시 왕 앞에서 말씀하며 왕의 발 아래 엎드려 아각 사람 하만이 유다인을 해하려 한 악한 꾀를 제거하기를 울며 구하니 　4) 왕이 에스더를 향하여 금 규를 내미는지라 에스더가 일어나 왕 앞에 서서 　5) 이르되 왕이 만일 즐거워하시며 내가 왕의 목전에 은혜를 입었고 또 왕이 이 일을 좋게 여기시며 나를 좋게 보실진대 조서를 내리사 아각 사람 함므다다의 아들 하만이 왕의 각 지방에 있는 유다인을 진멸하려고 꾀하고 쓴 조서를 철회하소서 　6) 내가 어찌 내 민족이 화 당함을 차마 보며 내 친척의 멸망함을 차마 보리이까 하니 　7) 아하수에로 왕이 왕후 에스더와 유다인 모르드개에게 이르되 하만이 유다인을 살해하려 하므로 나무에 매달렸고 내가 그 집을 에스더에게 주었으니 　8) 너희는 왕의 명의로 유다인에게 조서를 뜻대로 쓰고 왕의 반지로 인을 칠지어다 왕의 이름을 쓰고 왕의 반지로 인친 조서는 누구든지 철회할 수 없음이니라 하니라

에 8:1-8 　1) 아하수에로 왕은 그 날로 유다 사람의 원수 하만의 재산을 에스더 왕후에게 주었다. 에스더가 모르드개와의 관계를 밝혔으므로, 모르드개는 왕 앞에 나아갈 수 있었다. 　2) 왕은 하만에게서 되찾은 자기의 인장 반지를 빼서 모르드개에게 맡겼다. 에스더는, 하만에게서 빼앗은 재산을 모르드개가 맡아 보게 하였다. 　3) 에스더는 또다시 왕의 발 앞에 엎드려 울면서 간청하였다. 아각 사람 하만이 유다 사람을 치려고 꾸민 악한 음모를 막아 달라고 애원하였다. 　4) 왕이 금 규를 에스더에게 내밀자, 에스더가 일어나 왕 앞에 서서 말하였다. 　5) "내가 임금님께 은혜를 입었고, 임금님께서 나를 귀엽게 보시고, 내 말이 임금님께서 들으시기에 옳다고 생각하시면, 임금님께서 나를 사랑스럽게 생각하시면, 아각 자손 함므다다의 아들 하만이, 임금님의 나라 여러 지방에 사는 유다 사람을 다 없애려고, 흉계를 꾸며 쓴 여러 문서가 무효가 되도록 조서를 내려 주십시오. 　6) 나의 겨레가 화를 당하는 것을, 내가 어찌 나의 눈으로 볼 수 있겠으며, 나의 가족이 망하는 것을 어찌 눈뜨고 볼 수 있겠습니까?" 　7) 아하수에로 왕이 에스더 왕후와 유다 사람 모르드개에게 대답하였다. "하만이 유다 사람을 죽이려 하였기에, 나는 그를 장대에 매달아 죽이도록 하였소. 또한 하만의 재산을 빼앗아서 에스더 왕후에게 주었소. 　8) 이제, 유다 사람들을 살려야 하니, 왕의 이름으로 당신네들에게 유리한 내용으로 조서를 하나 더 만들고, 그 조서에 왕의 인장 반지로 도장을 찍으시오. 내 이름으로 만들고, 내 인장 반지로 도장을 찍은 조서는, 아무도 취소하지 못하오."

"나는 유다인을 멸망시키려고 한 죗값으로 하만을 이미 기둥에 매달아 죽였고, 그의 집을 에스델에게 주었다. 　8) 이제 어떻게 하는 것이 유다인에게 좋을지 그대들 소견에 맡길 터이니, 내 이름으로 문서를 만들고 내 인장반지로 인을 쳐서 돌려라. 내 이름으로 만들고 내 인을 친 칙서는 아무도 취소할 수 없다."

에 8:1-8 　1) That same day King Xerxes gave Queen Esther the estate of Haman, the enemy of the Jews. And Mordecai came into the presence of the king, for Esther had told how he was related to her. 　2) The king took off his signet ring, which he had reclaimed from Haman, and presented it to Mordecai. And Esther appointed him over Haman’s estate. 　3) Esther again pleaded with the king, falling at his feet and weeping. She begged him to put an end to the evil plan of Haman the Agagite, which he had devised against the Jews. 　4) Then the king extended the gold scepter to Esther and she arose and stood before him. 　5) “If it pleases the king,” she said, “and if he regards me with favor and thinks it the right thing to do, and if he is pleased with me, let an order be written overruling the dispatches that Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, devised and wrote to destroy the Jews in all the king’s provinces. 　6) For how can I bear to see disaster fall on my people? How can I bear to see the destruction of my family?” 　7) King Xerxes replied to Queen Esther and to Mordecai the Jew, “Because Haman attacked the Jews, I have given his estate to Esther, and they have impaled him on the pole he set up. 　8) Now write another decree in the king’s name in behalf of the Jews as seems best to you, and seal it with the king’s signet ring - for no document written in the king’s name and sealed with his ring can be revoked.”
